Recently, the Football Association of Malaysia FAM) gave a stern warning to all Malaysian League teams to complete the privatization and licensing process of the club will be relegated to the Amateur League (M3 League) next season.
The 'removal' will also reduce the number of teams competing in the Super League and the Premier League as not all of these clubs have strong financial pockets.
To overcome the problem Selangor head coach, B.Satiananthan through a statement in Sinar Harian suggested that the FAM invite clubs from abroad to fill the vacancies of the demoted team.
"If only 10 teams become FC,we can take foreign teams such as from Brunei,Singapore and so on to help enliven the league competition, moreover these teams use FC status earlier than us.
"Teams that are relegated to the M3 League competition if they want to return to the main league competition must complete the licensing process as well as the club privatization process," he told Sinar Harian.
In a recent Bola @ Mamak programme, invited guest Dato 'Windsor John who is also the Secretary General of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) also gave a firm statement on this matter, namely the separation of the FA to FC.
According to Satiananthan,if this change is not possible (Fa to FC),in 2021 licensing will not be recognized by the AFC,thus making it difficult for the Malaysian league team to compete in the Asian level.
"For me it is a loss if we do not switch to FC because it is a condition from the AFC. It is useless
when our team wins the FA Cup or emerges league champion but is finally not allowed to play in the AFC competition9because it is still FA status).
"It is not difficult for the FA to switch to FC, moreover he has good conditions for the development of football," he said.
FAM president, Datuk Haji Hamidin Md Amin previously said that the parent body will reduce the number of teams competing in the league from 12 teams to 10 teams if there are two teams that fail to complete the privatization process.
